The prize pool for the tournament, thanks to the TI9 Battle Pass, had gone up to over $34.3 million from nearly $25.5 million from the previous year. It was the first time The International had moved to the East, and it gave the Chinese teams an unprecedented home advantage. TI8 was held at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai. It has been two years since the Dota 2 community were treated to some insane TI plays, and as we move closer to TI10, it is only fitting that the TI9 triumphs of the most successful team in TI history is what we take a look at.
